Don't Loose Yourself

I learned that my life is not the life of my project.
When I eat, I EAT, when I am at home with my loved ones, then I am at home
with my loved ones, when I practice yoga, I practice yoga, when I meet a friend, I HAVE
A CONVERSATION WITH A FRIEND, I am fully present. I don't check emails, I don't respond to any messages, I don't think about what would have happened if I had done that deal differently...
I have learned to SEPARATE my life and the life of the project. Or better said, to be present in the one "thing" I'm doing right now.
Becoming One with the Project
I know what it's like to be so driven and fully in our projects. We have a great tendency to live it. To become one with them. I've found that to be one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I lost Maria. I forgot about her. For many, many years. She had no hope of ever getting her attention or her life back. I loved the projects. I became the projects.
The result? I ran out of energy. I came to a point of unfulfillment. I got to the point where
I didn't have a personal life. I didn't know what it was like to enjoy being with friends.
I started to get sick. Literally. I found myself in bed, standing up took a great effort.
I realised. Where's Maria? What would she want to do? What is she doing right now?
I came to this point at a very extreme stage of building a business where I was on the verge of a potential exponential growth, with an investment in the company of course.
So the solution was also extreme.
A Hard Reset
I shut everything down. By everything, I mean literally everything. I got rid of everything material. Completely. I took one suitcase and went to an island in Indonesia - and it's not Bali :) and lived very simple life with local people. It was amazing! My journey since then has been so beautiful. I worked on beautiful projects too. But... I think we don't have to go to such extremes to live the life we want, to live in balance and to keep ourselves.
That's why I think it's very important to preserve your own life and yourself when building your project. Just eat when you eat. Be with your friends and family when you are with them. Read a book. Do sports. Or whatever makes you happy. Just do it. Be yourself.
Stress management is one of the topics I mentor. If you feel like this is something for you, just reach out to me. I also find a great key to this whole thing is efficiency and productivity.
I can support you in that as well, based on my experience and the techniques that I use.
